From Rev. Dani Kilgore

AAMA VICE PRESIDENT

Dear Beloved Members of the African-American Ministers Association,

I hope this message finds you well. I write to you today with a heavy heart yet a hopeful spirit regarding some important changes within our leadership team.

It is with regret that I announce Reverend Edrin Williams has stepped down from his role as president for personal reasons. Edrin has been a dedicated leader, and we are profoundly grateful for his faithful service and the countless hours he has devoted to our association. His commitment to our mission and his uplifting spirit have touched many lives, and we will miss his guidance. As he shepherds his flock at Sanctuary Covenant Church during this season of change and growth, let us all keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

On Tuesday, April 15, the board appointed me, Dani Kilgore, as the interim president. I am honored to step into this role, and I look forward to working alongside each of you as we navigate this transition together.

During my time as interim president, the executive committee and I will focus on four key areas to ensure a smooth transition:

1. Updating our Bylaws: We will work closely with Reverend Dierdra to ensure that our governing documents reflect our current needs and values.

2. Creating a Nominating Committee: This committee will be established in preparation for our incoming executive board team, ensuring we have strong leadership moving forward.

3. Reviewing our Financial State: We will conduct a thorough assessment of our financial structure to ensure sustainability and support future growth.

4. Soliciting Feedback and Suggestions for Growth and Sustainability: It is vital that we hear the voices of all members. This is a member-led and member-run association, and everyone’s input matters. We encourage your suggestions on how we can grow and sustain our mission as we move forward in Christ together.

As we move forward, the board is also addressing the backfilling of unfilled and vacant positions. We are committed to ensuring that our leadership remains strong and effective.

I want to express my deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication that each of you brings to our community. Your support during this transition is invaluable, and I am hopeful that together we can continue to uplift one another and the mission we serve.

Attached to this email is a personal video message from Pastor Edrin. I encourage you to take a moment to watch it and reflect on the positive impact he has made.

If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Thank you for your understanding, your prayers, and your continued commitment to our shared mission.

Blessings and hope,

Rev. Dani Kilgore
